Concentration in Law Enforcement
"It is rewarding to share knowledge that positively influences grant writers to make a difference in their communities."
Denise currently serves as a non-sworn member of the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, in Bucks County, PA, with 19 years' experience developing public safety initiatives, writing grants and managing projects.
She had the privilege of working on the International Association of Chiefs of Police's pilot project resulting in IACP's "Proactive Approaches to Domestic & Sexual Violence" guide for police departments. This work inspired Denise to pursue a grant-funded Law Enforcement-Based Victim Services Unit which has experienced tremendous success and remains continuously funded.
Also serving as a law enforcement Peer Reviewer for Federal and State agencies, Denise has reviewed hundreds of applications and recommended millions of dollars in awards for police departments, non-profit agencies, and school districts nationwide for programs addressing police accreditation, gun violence, victim services, domestic violence and sexual assault, school safety/security, and substance abuse. This experience provides Denise a unique perspective from the funder’s view on what is required to win grants.
As an Officer of the Board for the CBR Police Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, Denise was integral to its formation. Her efforts in fundraising continue to result in support for: Victims of Crime, K9 Unit, Live Scan Central Booking Center, and Leadership in Law Enforcement trainings.
